Middleweight champion Daniel Geale has promised to put on a show in front of his hometown fans tomorrow night, when he defends his IBF world title against American Eromosele Albert in Hobart.

Speaking at today’s weigh-in, the 30 year-old Tasmanian responded to Albert’s claims that he didn’t know who Geale was by declaring he would give the American a boxing lesson.

“If he didn’t know who I was yesterday, he sure as well will know who I am tomorrow night” Geale said.

“I’ve had people underestimate me my entire career, obviously a world title belt hasn’t changed that so I’ll let my fists do the talking.

“It’s a great thrill for me to have the chance to defend my world title in Tasmania and I’m not going to disappoint the thousands of fans that have bought tickets for the show.

“I’ve had a great preparation and can’t wait for that bell to sound for the first round,” Geale said.

37 year-old Albert stunned a packed press conference in Hobart yesterday declaring he didn’t know who Daniel Geale was until he accepted the fight.

Adding insult to injury, the two-time Olympian went onto say he had no idea where Hobart was until he boarded a plane in Florida last week.

“It doesn’t matter who or where I fight, I just want to win the world title” Albert said today

“I wasn’t being disrespectful, it is nothing against Daniel or Australia, I just want to fight”.

Geale and Albert made weight today, setting the scene what is being billed as the biggest sporting event in Tasmanian history.

More than 5,000 tickets have been sold for the six-card show that will also feature a mouth-watering super-middleweight clash between Jamie Pittman and Serge Yannick.

“It’s an honor to support Gealey for his first world title defense on home-soil” Pittman said.

“He has had a huge influence on my career and hopefully I can do him proud by putting on a show against Yannick tomorrow night.

“Yannick is very fit and possess real knock-out power…it will be a very good test for me” Pittman said.

Full coverage of Geale v Albert can be seen live and exclusive on MAIN EVENT from 7pm AEST tomorrow night.
