Australia’s own Robbie “Bomber” Peden (24-2-0) and American Nate “Galaxy Warrior” Campbell (25-2-1) will meet in the ring for the vacant IBF Super Featherweight title.
Australia has never seen the IBF #1 contender, 31 year old Peden box in a professional fight, until now, when “Bomber” brings a world title fight to Melbourne. Peden aims to show his Aussie fans that he is the “complete package’’ and it has been worth the wait to see him fight in his home country.
Peden said, “This is such an important fight for me. It’s the one I’ve been training 21 years for. I’m going to prepare as best I can…I wanted to bring a world championship fight back to this country, show my dedication to this country, and show that we can compete against the best in the world.’’
Last time the two clashed, Robbie Peden knocked out Nate Campbell. With more at stake this time, the rematch promises to be a great fight.
Also on the card, Middleweight Sam Soliman (29-7) will take on Argentine Miguel Julio (34-5-1), Light Middleweight contender Shannon Taylor (41-3-2) will fight Dominican Jose Joaquin Rosa Gomez (51-18-4), Light Heavyweight Jason de Lisle, Lightweight prospect Michael Katsidis and WBF Women’s Featherweight Champion Australia's Sharon Anyos.
