You will receive an on-screen reminder when the MAIN EVENT you have purchased is due to start.

  • Q:Why am I unable to order a MAIN EVENT?

You will be unable to order a MAIN EVENT in the following situations:

    - If the telephone which connects the FOXTEL set top unit to your wall socket is unplugged – this cable must remain plugged in at all times. You can still order a MAIN EVENT via the telephone by calling 131 999. If you order via the telephone you will be charged immediately regardless of whether the MAIN EVENT is viewed or not.

    - If you have requested not to have a landline telephone connection installed at your home and connected to a FOXTEL set top unit. A landline telephone connection is required if you want to order and watch a MAIN EVENT via remote control. You can still order a MAIN EVENT via the telephone by calling 131 999. If you order via the telephone you will be charged immediately regardless of whether the MAIN EVENT is viewed or not.

    - If you are a FOXTEL iQ or FOXTEL iQHD customer and do not have a working return path. You can still order a MAIN EVENT via the telephone by calling 131 999. If you order via the telephone you will be charged immediately regardless of whether the MAIN EVENT is viewed or not.

  • Q:Can I cancel a MAIN EVENT I have ordered?

If you have ordered your MAIN EVENT via the FOXTEL Remote Control (FOXTEL iQ or FOXTEL iQHD), you can cancel any time before the event commences. By viewing any broadcast of the event, including the standby slide (if broadcast), or any playback of a recoreded event, you are charged.

    * Press the "planner" button on the FOXTEL Remote Control
    * Use the up and down arrow buttons to highlight the MAIN EVENT you wish to cancel and press the yellow button

However, orders made via the phone once confirmed cannot be cancelled. Your account will be charged regardless of whether the MAIN EVENT is viewed or not.

  • Q:How am I billed or charged for a MAIN EVENT I order?

You will be charged in arrears for any MAIN EVENT that you order via the FOXTEL Remote Control and watch during your Billing Cycle. For example, if your Billing Date falls on the 3rd of each month, you will be charged for any MAIN EVENT that you order between February 3 and March 2, on your March 3 Billing Date.

If you order via the telephone you will be charged immediately regardless of whether the MAIN EVENT is viewed or not.

  • Q:How can I find out which MAIN EVENT I have ordered or watched?

It’s best to keep your own record of any MAIN EVENT that you order and watch each month. Generally, you will only be able to receive this information on your next Billing Date and sometimes it may be the Billing Date after that. If you receive a statement, MAIN EVENT purchases will be visible on your statement. If you don't receive a statement this information is available by phoning 131 999 on or after your next Billing Date.

  • Q:How can I limit the number of MAIN EVENTs viewed in my household?

You can limit the number of MAIN EVENTs viewed using FOXTEL’s Parental Control which can block an entire channel, so that it can only be accessed using your Parental Control PIN. If you have not used Parental Control before, the default PIN is set as 1234.

Please note: Orders made via the phone once confirmed cannot be cancelled. Your account will be charged regardless of whether the MAIN EVENT is viewed or not.

  • Q:Can I view a MAIN EVENT on the additional FOXTEL set top unit?

A MAIN EVENT can only be viewed on the television and FOXTEL set top unit from which you order them. If you have an additional standard FOXTEL set top unit with a home telephone landline connection you can order additional MAIN EVENTs from this outlet at the relevant charge.

  • Q:I am getting an error message which states I have insufficient credit but I have paid my bill.

Your FOXTEL set top unit should 'dial back' to FOXTEL using the return path connection to download FOXTEL On Demand and MAIN EVENT bookings, there may be a few reasons why this is not occurring:

    * Is the phone line connected to the FOXTEL Set Top Unit? If the phone line is not connected to the FOXTEL Set Top unit, please re-install and contact FOXTEL on 131 999
    * Is call barring installed on your phone line? If you have call barring activated on your phone line you will need to have this de-activated with your Telephone provider in order for your phone line to dial back to FOXTEL. Once this has been done please contact FOXTEL on 131 999
    * Is your landline operating on a prepaid phone? Dial backs to FOXTEL cannot be made if you have a pre-paid landline and you will no longer be able to order FOXTEL On Demand Movies or MAIN EVENT via your remote. To order FOXTEL On Demand Movies and MAIN EVENT please call 131 999 and follow the prompts. Note: this service is only available to customers on standard FOXTEL Digital services
    * Check that there is a functioning phone line, if not please contact your Telephony provider. Once the phone line has commenced working please contact FOXTEL on 131 999
    * Do you have an ADSL internet connection? If so, is your ADSL filter connected to your FOXTEL return path? – If your ADSL filter is unplugged, please re-install and contact FOXTEL on 131 999
    * Is your Wireless Digipath® unplugged? – If your Wireless Digipath® is unplugged, please re-install and contact FOXTEL on 131 999
